I use a spacer so get more medicine in my lungs. I bought mine online without a prescription. It's a Monaghan AeroChamber Z Stat (anti static) spacer. I searched online and got it for $16 and that included the shipping.

I have been using a spacer for 5 years and so far, I haven't had thrush. The spacer helps Symbicort get to your lungs.

Yep, best thing I ever got from Amazon! I had thrush all the time, drove me up the walls. I haven't had it since I started using the spacer.

As the respiratory guy said in an earlier post and video, the purpose of a spacer is to slow down the delivery of the medication, so it can make all the turns in order to get deeper into your lungs, where they do the most good.

I have a devise known as an areochamber, it also has a whistle. The whistle lets you know if you are breathing too hard.

The same kind of devise (as a spacer) is also on the end of the medicine cup on a nebulizer.They are both designed to slow down the delivery of the medication, so it can navigate the turns on the way into the lungs.

If you can taste or feel the medication at the back of the mouth than that means that is where it stopped, and it does no good there.

I use a spacer with my symbicort...check medical supplies, your oxygen folks might have one, but they would probably cost more, so check online. Some folks may have had a prescription, but I never did, I just called the doctor and asked could i use a spacer with my symbicort...he said yes, I went online at "Just nebulizers" and ordered one.
