My doc put me on d3 for bone health 12 months ago. I thought my breathing improved a few days after I began taking additional d3....maybe it has helped by decreasing inflammation.
My last PFT in January showed severe obstruction and diffusion and the reason that I am mentioning this is because in the 4 years that I have been on the COPD meds, I have been in the hospital the initial time only.
Yet I have been taking the increased levels of Cal and D3 so is it possible that this is one of the reasons that I keep the inflammation under control? I take a burst of Pred and Azith maybe 2-3 time a year and that is usually in the extreme heat or extreme cold times of the year.
I have a yearly check from my internist on Monday so maybe I need to give him a big thank You.
Vit D deficiency is a big problem for many health conditions and can actually be the cause of them in some cases.
Getting Vit D levels checked is so important for us all with COPD, especially as the steroids have an affect on bone health and good vit D levels are so important for this.
I wonder if I should increase my Vit D dose a little as at the moment I am experiencing some joint inflammation.
Thank you again Holly.
Have a great evening everyone.
