Hey Roe. sorry ..No alarms, no bells, just NO Pssstttt up your nose. And that is one scarry moment!! You have to watch the green colored window real close. Each one is different, of course, but I'm on 3LPM and it lasts a good 4 hours.

It definately leaks out even when you have it turned off. It's not like your old green bottles. You can't save it from the day before, because it evaperates overnight. It is so easy and fast to fill. The one I had for the concentrator took over an hour to fill, but the air lasted. You couldn't be impulsive and leave the house quickly, like you can with the Helios.

I think I'd take it out on a test spin. Use the Helios to do all your errands, then come home and finish things to do in the house, then finish off the tank on the couch while watching TV or something). It will give you a better idea of how long it will last. Good Luck. Laurie

Laurie, what kind of concentrator did you have that had to be refilled? I thought they all ran off electricity or battery.

I thought only the Liquid Oxygen cylinders had to be refilled.

I am now on the concentrator oxygen system that only needs electricity or battery and am considering a portable and like the idea of how lightweight the liquid 02 system can be but don't want to have to worry about a refill either for the portable or the home base unit.

What kind do you use when you fly?

Sorry Anna, I guess I wasn't making myself clear.

I have been using a regular "electricity-eating" concentrator. It had a table and a home-fill system that attached to the concentrator. It also came with 3 portable canisters that you filled from the concentrator and carried over your shoulder. The rental service took the home-fill system back, and left the concentrator. I'd love to buy the home-fill system on my own, but it costs $4,000 + all by itself!

Just an FYI
Helios lasts less time in the environment you are in,
Altitude makes a difference and so does heat.
The higher you are the more you use. The hotter is is the quicker it disipates.
