Hi All,

Ok, you know me..always looking for some fun ways to start up a discussion, one that has NOTHING to do with COPD...LOL!! You know me, i'm that social deviant, that likes to stir things up!

How did you get your nickname, or how did you come up with it?

Mine was from my 2nd husband (yup, i was married twice)...I used to call his work, and his secretary used to say, "OH Betsy Boo is on the phone....and then he started calling me Boo...and then it kinda stuck. Then when i moved to Rochester 17 years ago, my friends started calling me Boo....

Not everyone calls me it, but I kinda like it, and I like it when y'all call me Boo...It kinda fits me....

I don't have a clue when it started - my first and middle name is Dennis Eugene. My wife probably has a better idea as to when she started it, but I never wake up grumpy. Maybe later...

Well, when I first started DS, I didn't have a clue how it worked. I didn't realize how inventive we could be with our nicknames, so I just used my last name/first initial. I wish I could change it now, but I don't have a clue if we can, or how I would go about it.

Boo, I LOVE your nickname! It fits you perfectly!

It's my first and middle name. There is another one that I have been using since the 90's when I first started on the internet but for here I decided to use my real name.

When I signed up for DS I was drinking a cup of coffee and wanted a nickname different so drinkcoffee was born.

I think I used it for an ebay password. Used the year I picked it. Boring. Can't change it though.

It is my initials + whatever number isn't taken yet ( I start with 100 ). I have been using it for years.

years ago i raised, trained and showed collies. i needed a kennel name and it was a family thing. so i took the first initial of each person in my family and it came out JARCA.
i've used it for over 20 years now.

Mine is a play on words with my name and the 2 came from my old web tv pc... I changed to a real pc and msn wouldnt let me move on as skope1... so 2 it is.

In the Philippines the grandkids call me Gwapo Daddy which means Handsome Grandfather....so you know which one I picked lol.....Gwapa is the female word for Pretty...

You are all so much fun to respond to this!! Thank you!!! Ok, I'm at Val's...we went out to some of her friends house , and they had an outside bonfire, in their fire pit. I took off the O2 tank, and hung out. I was ok!!!

My O2 was no lower than 93 the entire time. WE had fun!!!

Well Boo... I liked your story and I also like the modern "meaning of the word" in the hip, hop culture that "Boo" is a loved one, a partner, a close confidant, a cherished one, the other half that compliments! You are our "Boo", Betsy!
Now for me... Fergie with the group The Black Eyed Peas sang the song about her "LadyLumps", her "junk in the trunk" and I just thought my "ladylungs" was a good play of words on that! Don't be hating now... I don't look like Fergie and I sure don't have her bumps, her lumps or anything remotely near that! LOL! Debbie.

Higginsp you CAN change it - I use to use dramo - part first & last name but it was too close to draino & grannie & marg used to tease a bout it. Lol-- so I just use my first name & birthdate

Mine is just my last name and initials. Like the others, I did not know we could get all inventive and such!!
