I have been having chest pains esp in ams now all day. Sweating profusely , right arm ,jaw neck pain. Out of breath. Tightness. EKG is good one was questionable. But I had a ct that showed mosaic stuff. It states small airway disease/ small vessel disease . And small areas of collapsed lung.. I knew about the collapse from and older X-ray. I'm not coughing unless I excersize in the least bit. Then I wheeze. Iv never had asthma so I don't know if this is what it feels like. Iv been very sedentary and tired with small tasks. I'm very young 45 . I have a inflammatory arthritis. Yes I was a smoker twelve yrs ago I quit. Please if anyone has any opinion. Iv researched and came up with poss copd or the small vessel thing can be cardiac.
The COPD part is easier....go and get a lung function test....PFT...this will give you an indication of where your lungs are...

Small airways disease comprise of a group infectious as well as non conditions that affect the small airways (i.e. airways that are more peripheral to the main bronchi and proximal bronchioles (4th the 14th generation) - arbitrarily considered to be those with an internal diameter of 2mm 3). I would make an appointment with a pulmonary specialist. Take the CT scan and the radiologist reports with you to show him. He can evaluate it further and put you on the right treatment.
