A good rule of thumb, take a cup filled halfway with warm water and add the baking soda a pinch at a time. Test it by dipping your fingertip and tasting it.
You should barely taste the soda. If it is too strong then add more warm water. I also like to throw in a very very small pinch of table salt if no baking soda is available. Remember...too much of either can make your nose burn.
A warm cloth over your nose and forehead area can help with the headaches. Do you have any coffee? A cup of strong coffee helps headache pain from sinuses by restricting the blood vessels in your head... Take it from me...I'm a sinus problem
vet LOL been dealing with sinus issues for over 17 years.
Hope you feel better soon, Peter. Otherwise, see your doctor, please.

Perhaps try using a room humidifier during heating season if you live in a climate that is cold.
Do you use a humidifier on your concentrator?
My lung Doc suggested that I suck on a mentholated cough drop to open my nose when it is stuffy.
Happy Thanksgiving Day!

But any saline solution should work, even saline nasal spray instead of the other you are useing.
It is recommended you use distilled water, if that is to hard to get where you are, boil some and let it cool down. It should be lukewarm, not to hot or cold..
I have a lot of congestion every morning, but it usually clears up , and I blame it on house dust.
Is it dusty where you are? The ac can bring it in, and it can cause sinus problems.
Coffee for the headache is a good idea, even hot tea (since you are an Aussie... :) .
I hope you can find some relief,...I know drug stores sell a lot of sinus headache remedies otc,, all I would recommend on that is to ask the pharmacist. They normally know which one is best.
If the headache does not go away, or you have colored mucus or fever, please see a doctor, you might have a sinus infection.
Hang in there my friend, and I hope you get to feeling better

Bj...yes its very dusty here, lots of smoke pollution as the locals burn everything cos there is really no garbage collection n also cook on open fires. My A/C runs 24/7 n the filter gets clogged black within 2 days so i suspect that alot of crap comes out of it.
As to finding remedies over the counter its a pointless exercise so i have to improvise...thats why i depend so much on you guys to teach me...
peter...
I hope it is possible to keep your ac filters changed or cleaned off as much as possible.
And also, shouldn.t you be useing that oxygen? That would be better for your lungs than all that smoke and soot. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.I hope some of the suggestions work for you.
Maybe you can get out of there soon.
BJ
God Bless
