"Ask the Respiratory Therapist" on COPD Canada's web site is another good source of information. You can ask the Respiratory Therapist (Mark Mangus) your question and he will answer it. I've learned a lot about COPD and how to manage it from reading the questions and answers:

Part of me loves all the info on these sites, but part of me ends up scaring myself and I wonder why I read them!

webmd, johnshopkins, mayo clinic, any web site I have listed in a comment are reputable, and I know what you mean bout the internet scareing you. Do not ever believe everything you read !!!

You can google "copd" and bring up a thousand sites, butt look for hose from a well known hospital, that is how I do it anyway.

i understand the scarring myself comment, it is good to be informed so we can take the best care of ourselves possible. at the same time i can get "overkilled" by information.
i try to read the sites & not compare myself to them.
i also try to stay away from any sites that start giving me statistics on life span with this disease.
i am lousy at googling information... i seem to get all the bad info; like bj said i do try to stay with reputable sites.
i love this group because others with better skills than i, post such great links!
