Hi All,
Well, i wanted to share something with all of you. I have been battling morbid obesity for many years. I have tried all of the diets on this earth, was sucessful on weight watchers before but just always ended up, gaining it all back.
so, i have been in contact, and have had an evaluation with a Bariatric Surgeon, and I have been approved for a gastric bypass.
I will be having the surgery, in July or August. I plan on losing about 180 pounds, so it will take me a while, but they say i should lose about 120 in a year!!
I have suffered with chronic pain due to my spinal stenosis, and arthritis in my back, legs, hips and knees. I can hardly walk. My Dr's have all told me, that this surgery will save my life. I am so excited to share this with all of you.
So, when the time comes, I will ask you for your prayers, that I come thru this surgery well, even with having COPD, and Congestive Heart failure. My cardiologist and all of my dr's, have approved me as safe to have this done.

If any one can do it you can. You are such a strong lady and I know God will put his hands on you and bless you and your Dr through this surgery.

i know a couple of people that had it done & they love it, but they can only eat little bits at a time.
i guess i'm lucky, i just gain some in the winter & lose it in the summer.
since this surgery i am losing so much weight that my daughter went and bought me some insures to drink WITH a meal to make sure i'm getting enough calories and vitamins.
are you getting the full surgery or the lapband (not sure if there is a better way ...just curious)
have they told you when you can do this & do you have a dr you trust (not nosey, just care :)

I joined the Gastric bypass support group on here, and they are a bunch of wonderful people...(not as great as we are, but close!!) It's amazing hearing and seeing the results they have had. I would think it will take about 2 yrs to lose the whole 180 pounds, but i should be down about 90 pounds in 6-8 months!! I can't wait to go shopping!!
