Is there anyone here needs or knows of someone who needs COPD meds for nebulizer who can't afford them? My husband won't use his but refuses to stop them from sending them to him. They're all unopened and for a nebulizer:
ALBUTEROL SO4 0.083% INHL 3ML &
IPRATROPIUM BROMIDE 0.02% INH SOLN 2.5ML
I'd be more than happy to ship them. I'm getting ready to burn them since I've tried everything else I know. It's not allowed to donate them to a company who might redistribute them. This is probably against the law, but I'm not selling them. I hope I won't get in trouble for asking.

you won't get in trouble for asking and i'm sure DEA has bigger fish to fry than a person wanting to give away copd meds, but it is illegal to give prescription medications to another person; so i would be very cautious of sending them to a person you don't know.
also, if they were to have a reaction to them, you could be blamed.

we had this brought up once before & I took my extra meds to my PCP and asked him to give them to someone that may need them that can't afford them.
i don't know if he did or didn't, but at least I felt like i got the meds into the proper hands.

it's a very nice offer, but you may want to rethink it if you live in the USA. (i'm not sure what laws are in other countries)

I agree be careful ...it is illegal to give meds to anyone who they are not prescribed for....it is a shame to waste meds because they arent cheap...but you can run into all kinds of trouble...just toss them out to be safe'''

Thanks, guys. I never thought of someone maybe having a reaction to them. I think destroying them is my only option since my husband won't let me tell his PCP that he's not taking his meds like he's supposed to.

I was just commenting in another topic that Albuterol makes me shaky & feel like i'm having a heart attack. It also does nothing to help my breathing so I told my dr I wouldn't take it any more.

Your husband may not like telling his PCP he isn't doing the medicine, but if he is having reactions to it then his PCP should be informed and possibly another medication tried.

When i did a PFT they had me do 1 test then take albuterol & take a 2nd test to see if it helps.....My PFT showed no difference before or after my doing the Albeterol.
So after trying the albuterol nebulizer to no avail, I asked my PCP why he prescribed that medication when the PFT showed it wouldn't help my breathing. He answered, "because asthma medicines are the best we have to offer so it was worth trying to see if it would help."

Anyway, I'm just suggesting that it may be worth talking to his dr about this.
