Those who take Daliresp seldom, if ever notice any differences in their breathing - but that doesnt mean it is not working. The benefits are seldom immediately it often takes a month or so to both gain the benefit and to tolerate it. DALIRESP is for severe COPD, to decrease the number of flare-ups or worsening of COPD symptoms (exacerbations). That is, one takes DALIRESP to reduce their risk of future exacerbations and perhaps hang around a little longer.
If prescribed one should not stop taking it unless they experience side-effects which become intolerable: Common side-effects including diarrhea, weight loss, nausea, headache, back pain, problems sleeping (insomnia), dizziness, and decreased appetite. (If you look closely at that list one notices many are actually flu-like symptoms, thus these symptoms are normal while taking Daliresp, but usually go away once one has been on it for awhile, and disappear in time (but not necessarily immediately) after one stops.) The most common reason for quitting is diarrhea and nausea always annoying, but often well controlled with diet changes.
Definitely dont stop taking it without informing the prescribing doctor.
Is your Dr the one having you stop it? I would call him & see if these are "normal" side effects when stopping.
If not I would get an appointment because you could have the starting of an exacerbation.
There are a lot of illnesses going around lately; better to get checked out than get sicker.
