I Have Moderate Copd. last year

not really taking any reaching medications recently got a virus at work and now I'm having a lot of mucus cough it up feel OK and then start coughing again and getting bronchial spasms.
I don't feel sick but the coughing and that continued production of mucus is driving me crazy any ideas what I can do now.

You could try mucinex DM, but if it continues I would see a Dr. Hope you feel better soon.

The color of the mucus is a good indicator that something can be wrong. Anything other than clear/pale should be a warning: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/phlegm-color-meaning.html

I have had the same symptoms for months and I do go to the Dr's when it happens. I seem to have chronic bronchitis along with moderate COPD. It gets worse if I don't get Omnicef antibiotic and codeine for bedtime so I can sleep better.

My mucus has been pale or clear but I take Mucinex DM when I have a flare up or just Mucinex Expectorant the other days since the stuff has to come up some way too.

Hardest part is the fatigue it leaves me with. I do hope you see the Dr and keep us updated. We care and we also learn from each other.

I wish I had moderate COPD! :(

Heed to the advice that Dennis is giving. I now have pneumonia because I did not pre-medicate during the first stages of coughing of the mucus and the SOB flare up. I waited for almost a week when the SOB started before I began with the prednisone and then another week to start my antibiotics. Too late, I had to go see my Dr when I came home and now I'm sidelined for at least a week and losing a weeks worth of income riding out this flare up.

Better COPD through drugs! Have a blessed day...

Thank all for advice. I have just finished my merrily dose pack. Completed apace last week. Had doc at work check lungs. Expiratory wheeze otherwise clear. I am taking mucinex er. I hats Neb txs. Makes me feel awful but may have to do it anyway. And I also have panic disorder not good combine with cold. HERES WHERE YOU GET TO YELL AT ME. I cant seem to give up smoking and I really want to. Seems the worse I get the more I want to smoke I get so anxious.
