Oh yes, whenever the doctor puts me on Prednisone I get the shakes and feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin. How long are you supposed to be taking it and what dose is it? I also found that if I took it very early in the morning that by the time bed time rolled around it didn't keep me up all night. So, the earlier the better for me. Hope this helps you a bit. I take an anxiety drug for panic attacks also.

Wow that was quick. He put me on 20 mg a day for 1 week. I just finished it. and Im hoping the shakes go away quick. Thanks for the reply.

Bun, I don't have the shakes when I use prednisone, but it seems like it maybe a common side affect. The one that gives me the shakes is Daliresp, but it seems to help keep the exascerbations down, and lessens the impact. -- Regards, Bill

Tis a really good day (got my shots this AM). But this past week I've been shaky. It appears I need to talk to my doc about shortening the interval between my shots.
At times it doesn't take too much to make me feel like a reed in the wind. High humidity, a lung infection, dust kicked up in the air. In most cases I can deal with the cause and the shakyness subsides a bit.
Drugs are another story. the side effects are crazy and wildly different from person to person. Serenity has a great idea on minimizing the effects of prednisone.
Might want to schedule a follow up with your doc, exacerbations are nothing to screw with...

I don't remember having the shakes from the steroids but I definitely eat like a horse when I am on them. Now the albuterol nebulizer treatments make me shaky.

Question: Do you eat before taking them? my doc told me it is best not to take them on an empty stomach. Maybe that is the wildcard here.

When I did the Prednisone, I shook like a leaf and everything I ate had no flavor at all.

Did you know the shakes and prednisone are brother and sister! When ever I would have to go into the hospital they would give me 125mg of prednisone to start off. The hands would start shaking first and then the rest of the body.:) It will pass.

Well, to start, it is recommended to take prednisone on a full stomach or with a meal, because it can cause stomach upset. It can make you feel anxious, but a doctor really needs to check to make sure that is it.
However, I do not get shaky with prednisone, but get all jumpy if I use my duo neb (with albuterol) OR combnivent (with albuterol) to soon after useing my steroid inhaler. Both the nebulizer meds and the steroid inhaler stimulate the heart, kind of like a person with to much caffine!!
So i make sure I space them out, but sometimes my doctor says use caution when taking them togeather, so if I am real conjested I just use the duo neb and the Spariva. The duo neb and combnivent (rescue inhaler) are the same medications and are not to be used togeather. I hope this helps, I realize everyone is different.
