Hope you don't mind if I add this note in support of your article but a bit OT
Someone here asked about water aerobic classes and using their O2. Our local YMCA will let you attend if :
1) you have Drs. statement saying its safe
2) you use a non electric portable O2 system
A few friends I know who have COPD have started working in a class and the instructor has them stay a bit more shallow end then the rest of the folks and keeps a flotation near then for her comfort level . So it is possible, just see if your local Y will work with you.

WHAT ABOUT SWIMMING?
Bee, more power to you if you can still swim! Go for it. I do water walking and it's great! I'd rather do it outside than in as there is less humidity, so it's either very early or when the sun's going down both are a pretty time to be out anyway!
