life with emphysema...asthma....copd..sux.

Why do we demonize emphysema? Why do we hate it so?

Why not accept it. Would you rather have multiple sclerosis, cancer or insulin dependent diabetes? As Popeye says, "I Am What I Am."

It looks like many of us were exposed to many toxic chemicals long before we were diagnosed with emphysema. Many of us had asthma and multiple allergies.

My theory is that it was all the toxins we were were exposed to that weakened our lungs and immune system. It was our smoking that pushed us over the edge. Don't blame yourself. Don't feel guilty.

i agree with BB. ---something has to get us or we'd be immortal & that's not life on this planet. and it could be worse= my sister died of this disease & had never smoked a day in her life.

Happy Easter to y'all from this part of TX. We're having gorgeous weather. I've been able to get to water exercise albeit with a walker mostly cause I fear tripping on the mats. I'm feeling well these days and know I'm lucky because I have no cough or mucus, just SOB.
And I'm an older person so don't resent my infirmatives so much..
Spent the afternoon making deviled eggs to share. Gonna wear my bunny ears to lunch tomorrow : )
