Good Morning, I joined this group in 2009. I have not been
actively involved with it,because my husband got so
sick right after I joined. I lost my husband in December
to bladder cancer. So, I got back on here and got really
involved with the widows/widower support group.
Which has been great for me. There are so many wonderful
and supportive friends on there. Today I decided to get
more involved with this COPD & Emphysema Support Group.
And I saw where there was talk of that there should be more
guidelines on here. As for as jokes, politics,etc. Even though
this is my first day on here, I feel sure this is a strong and
supportive group, but I did want to bring to everyone's
attention,if you are not already aware of this group, that you
might want to check it out. It is not to leave this group, just
gives us the opportunity to be able to get as much information
as we can get to help ourselves with this disease.
It is called " EFFORTS". Which stands for Emphysema
Foundation For Our Right To Survive. There is no charge
to join. Please check it out, and let me know what you think.

Great to see you posting here. Yes I am aware of Efforts, there is lots of information there about COPD also on COPD International site. Its great to have a choice I think.
I do find that the best access to managing our COPD tho comes from attending a pulmonary rehabilitation course. Its a pity not everyone can access one but there is info on lung.usa site about this and about the better breathers clubs too.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome here. I love
this site DS, and look forward to meeting some new
friends on here. I do appreciate the info on these other
sites as well. I just feel that the more I know about this
disease the more I can help myself, and hopefully
