My God, that is totally devastating. I'm so so sorry for all of the people that have to suffer from the aftermath.

You should send a few of those before and after photos to some news networks like CNN, FOX, etc. That one church is just totally destroyed into a big mound of rubble. The loss of all it all is so demoralizing.

Hope you are well medically and not having to suffer for a good and safe place to live after all of this. Please keep us informed. All of our prayers are with you and your lovely family as well as the people in your community and beyond.

so sad, all that history of that beautiful island totally destroyed. The churches that had been standing so long, and it so sad to see them destroyed. Was your place destroyed? What about you little grand daughters parents places??
I had to laugh when you said you grabbed your passport and money and ran out add forgot you had COPD !! I am hoping someone grabbed your inhalers or concentrator anyway.

All minor structural damage bren......hardest thing is evacuating the house everytime it shook....except the dog.....she hid somewhere under the bed n wouldn't budge....but we are all fine n wife is out trying to buy food as everywhere is closed...with 6 adults n 9 grandkids staying with us...our food supplies are shot hehe...

Those pictures - so sad. And the lives lost - so very sad. Caring thoughts to you and yours.

I am keeping you in my prayers , Peter. I read about that church in your town in my local paper today. "The bell tower toppled from Cebu city's 16th century Basilica of the Holy Child, a remnant of the Spanish colonial era...".
Well, you have your family and those sweet grandchildren, so that is a blessing. Your little dog has his own ideas of survival! lol...Just slide a bowl of food and water under the bed....Stay safe my friend
