dr appt 9:15 thursday SCARED HELP!

As some of you know, this is something I FEAR! but like I said reading the post that some of you sent me, its the right thing to do. I have a few questions to ask I know they may sound stupid but IAM NEW TO ALL THIS, and very scared! so bare w/ me. if I go in there and they do the test where they put the oxgen thing on your finger and it reads in the 90\'s what does that mean? also what does or what are they looking for when they look at a lung x ray, for copd how can they tell.why is it I can breath ok some times then all of a sudden I can\'t. I don;t understand this copd at all but........ I have a feeling Im fixing to learn a lot and need too. all of your advise has help me get this far. As going to the doctor instead of putting it off.This DS is a great place to be for understanding and so much caring, and truth! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!

Take a deep slow breath, let it all out and relax your going to be alright.

Your doctor will tell you what he thinks is going on and after your visit you can come and tell us.

If you have questions everyone her will be more than happy to answer for you.

For now, just relax, your going be be alright..

You are going to have answers, and proper medications after this doctor visit.

Linda, yes, as Holly said, relax, breathe, and everything will be ok. One of the really unsettling things that all of us with asthma or COPD have is that our condition is always changing. We can be fine one minute,and horrible the next. That's the major reason why you need to have a regular medication plan, to help even out the ups and downs. Be sure to ask the doctor about exercise. It's very important that you stay as active as possible, and he will give you some reasonable guidelines based on your condition.

I know that the anticipation is much worse than the reality. I'm guessing that sleeping tonight will be difficult. But try to just let go of it, and remember that all will be well. Good luck tomorrow, and yes, please let us know! Hugs, Sue
