I lived and worked in West Cameroon and in South Africa for four years back in the 60s, These ads for herbs that cure everything are juju medicine. The U.S. was pouring in medicine, doctors and nurses and medical care by the ship loads, but juju was still ,"Real medicine". to the natives.

I'm sure if there was ever a cure for COPD, then like polio, we wouldn't see so many people with it.
There are things that can help us be more comfortable, but not "cure".
I do hope people don't fall for any of the spam posted in this forum. As mama always said, "If it sounds too good to be true, it must not be true."
Also, even with legitimate treatments, what may help one person may not help another.

Some of this stuff is from Africa. Back in the 60s, the U.S. was pouring all kinds of medical help and supplies into the entire continent. The peace corps doctors and nurses were setting up tent clinics in the villages. They were giving vaccination shots in addition to other care. The natives would steal syringes and when the medics left, they would fill them with river water or whatever and sell, "Medicine",shots to other natives. They would steal bottles of pills or whatever they could. One native washed out his kid's eye with iodine he stole from the medics. God knows what is in the, "Herbal", stuff they are selling now.

I'm happy to know I didn't upset anyone. Fact is there is no cure. We live with it and go. And it is true that what works for one may not work for someone else. I myself deal with it. Since something was found that helps for me, I actually look forward to the meds.

I am with you RjM- no supplements are going to help this. Waste of money. I am going to do everything my doctor tells me within reason of course ! Does anyone's throat burn when you breathe in. It really hurts!

Indeed it does. Got this damned oxygen thing. Can't use the humidifier. All I can do to take a shower. I hucked up stuff when I was working that looked crystalline. Tried to explain the burn. My lungs actually hurt. Doesn't seem they listened.

Will say this though. If you're unhappy with your doc CHANGE. You have that right. We are paying them, not indebted to them.
