Yesterday I have an appointment with my family doctor.
I had begun a cold with sneezing, stuffy nose, cough, and a bit of a wheeze in my upper chest.
My temperature was over 100.
My doctor gave me a shot of dxa 4 mg
He wrote prescriptions for Azithromycin, Prednisone, and Robafen Ac
The Dexa was amazing, with in an hour my wheezing was so much less, and today I started the prednisone run I am amazed to feel this much better this quickly.
I was wondering if any of you have had that Dexa IM in the beginning of an exacerbation and if so how it worked for you.
For me, from this point on, if Dexa is not offered when I am in the begining of an exacerbation, I am going to ask for it, it really made a huge difference for me.

.Its called Dexamethasone.
I was surprised to get the injection, and It may not be for everyone, but it sure did help me.

Like you thought Holly.. its often given to give a "Boost" during a flair till the oral pred starts its mojo.
Its sometimes also referred to as Solumedrol

light rays, I am so glad it worked for you too, its amazing how much better I felt.
Today I find I am still rattling and breathless on exertion, but I feel so glad I had that boost start to the treatment!
