COPD & Emphysema Support Group

I attend one monthly, ours has been going for about 7 years, we have professional speakers, sometimes about managing COPD and other times from alternative therapists, professional exercise instructors, Retired Regional Chairman's of lung foundation, even actors/ actresses, all very interesting, we also have coffee and a chat after the speaker has finished speaking to the group.
We don't do exercise in our group but a few of us go to a dedicated class that meets weekly.
We do have our own dedication community nurse who specialises in respiratory problems and breathing difficulties, we are lucky to have her and she comes to the group whenever she can and gives lots of advice and help concerning our medicines etc.
Our group is supported by the lung foundation and we meet in a local hired hall, we have about 32 members now, although on average we probably have between 18 and 24 who attend each month.
I am looking forward to reading what others experiences are of groups they attend.
Its a great pity that your group is so far away Holly, if there are lots of people with breathing difficulties in your area maybe you could arrange something closer to home. Even if its just a coffee morning type thing.
Thanks for thinking to post this Holly
