One of the sites say they are safe, but I dont know for sure, they are cute aren't they.

I guess contact the manufacturer to make sure.

I know someone over at the Efforts group is using them and loves them.

How to color plastic

I learned about a method to use RIT dye to add color to plastic. Plenty of colors are available and it is fairly easy to do.

Why would you do this?

One man said he would like bright colored hose because his eyesight was failing.

The dye penetrates all the way through with hard and soft plastic.

Sometimes the parts become colored but are still transparent and other times they are solid.

For instance, the connector at the end of the hose was transparent with red dye but opaque with black.

You just put some dye in water, put the parts in and heat it up a little for a while.

I usually use a disposable aluminum tray (for cooking) and heat it on a barbecue grill or stove.

It doesn't need to boil. Put the tubing in there and in about 20 minutes it is done.

I dont know if its safe or not, but thats how you can do your own. Thanks Eforts Group!

O2 Heaven, 20 S. State St., promotes itself as Ohio's only oxygen bar. The bar's equipment pulls oxygen from the room and concentrates it, providing customers with air that is between 85 and 90 percent oxygen, rather than the 20 percent oxygen people usually inhale.

Patrons pay about $1 per minute. They also can select aromatherapy scents or other aromas to be mixed with their oxygen. Those scents include peach, peppermint, apple, pina colada and chocolate-covered strawberry, among others.

Owner Jason Parsons got the idea for O2 Heaven after visiting an oxygen bar while getting married in Las Vegas in April. In less than two months, he had O2 Heaven up and running.

"It was absolutely amazing. I just felt like a million bucks afterward. I came back and tried to find one in Ohio and couldn't find it," Parsons said. "I whipped this place together in a month and a half. It's pretty neat."

Since opening in June, O2 Heaven has seen a lot of interest, Parsons said, and already has garnered some regular customers.

"We've had tons of people coming in," he said. "The response has been nothing but positive from the people who have been in here, and we've had a lot of repeat business just in the month and a half we've been open."

While Parsons makes no medical claims for his business, he said oxygen has been known to ease migraines, provide for better sleep, help with recovery after exercise and alleviate hangovers. It also can boost energy levels and concentration.

"It just makes you feel good," Parsons said. "A lot of people come back here on a really consistent basis, saying the oxygen really helps them."

The oxygen bar looks to further relax people with its atmosphere. Parsons' wife, Jill, an artist, has painted murals on the walls, and their pets, a dog, a chameleon and fish, are mainstays at the bar.

"We're just trying to create an inspired and an interesting environment where people will feel inspired," Parsons said.

O2 Heaven also offers energy drinks, select wellness products and massages to customers.

The business is portable, allowing Parsons to set up at festivals and parties. He said he recently put on a children's party and made an appearance at the Pickerington Violet Festival.

O2 Heaven is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Parsons said he plans to expand hours once Otterbein University begins classes this fall, and he also plans to establish an open mic night.

They had one down at O.S.U. main campus for a while but it got shut down. Geez, I go right by that place all the time! Who'd pay a dollar a minute to suck O2? Obviously someone does. Crazy people!

I was thinking about while cooking dinner.

I would rather see my kids and other collage students spending their money hang out in the oxygen bars huffing oxygen and drinking carrot juice, singing karaoke and hanging out than in the alcohol bars getting loaded and driving back to dorms drunk.

If its a fad with the collage students, its a good thing I think.

I think I remember a Star trek episode from long ago that had an oxygen bar where everyone was hanging out enjoying them selves...
