I live in midwestern US where we "enjoy" extremes. In summer it may get up in the 100's with 99% humidity, and in winter it may get as cold as 20 or 30 below zero. But most of our weather is in between those extremes. I've just merely learned what my body can handle and avoid venturing out when the weather bothers me.

I can't do anything about the weather, so I just adjust myself to what ever it is, when it is hot I stay in the A/C when it rains, I take a Tylenol.

We've lived in the Mojave desert for the last 20 years. When it is windy, I stay inside. When it gets too hot I stay inside.
I'm thinking it's more our genetic makeup,other personal medical factors and past/current life style that control how well we fare. We most often mitigate environmental factors by controlling the space around us - which is far easier and more effective than mitigating the internal effects of the diseases we have. My $0.02...

I do much better in the Spring and Fall. Winter and Summer are tough for me with extreme temps and humidity. I just hate that Spring is so short here because of the pollen and my having to stay indoors the first 3 weeks of Spring (except to just go to work and back home).

i've always lived in a dry desert environment. humidity makes me feel like i'm being suffocated (long before this disease).
i love the desert, it has a beauty of it's own.

I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Very pretty. For the most part mild temps. I have had more and more trouble in the winters. My husband is looking at a job in Texas. I am in away trying to justify relocation choices or not relocation choices. Don't think I can stand those temps in the 100s. I went to the coast a couple of weekends ago. I have a peak flow meter. Checked readings. Usually get it to 225-250. I was getting it up to 300. Had trouble breathing r/t wind and respiratory infection but... Not sure what was better for me. I just need to get more in tune to my body. Temp changes, cold wind bother me. I'm not sure about the humidity. Does the barometric pressure bother anyone? I think because I have progressed I don't know my body very well and have gotten some unpleasant surprises. Thanks for the good info! Nancy

I have done a lot of research on the best place to live. There is "NO" best place to live. Each of us is an individual.
Recommendations: Low elevation; moderate climate; not too humid, or not too dry. I live in Southern Oregon.
I am staying where I am; as I have lived here my entire life. Humidity in the Southern States makes it very hard for me to breathe. Arizona is too dry for me. I have traveled to high elevations; and had problems breathing. Hope this information helps you. Good luck.

Nancy I do believe the barometric pressure does do something to us..I can usually tell if it going to rain a few hours before it does.

I have a friend who blames her headaches on the pressure...I believe her.

My sister who is now 80 has had asthma her whole life and has always been able to tell us a day or so ahead when it was going to rain...and we live in the Phx AZ area, so rain is rare...I agree the barometric pressure affects us.

I lived in Tucson Az until I was 48. NEVER had any problems.......NONE...........ZIPPO....NADA.

Moved to Texass in 2000....had no problems until 2007......in the WINTER...that is when my "flare ups" would hit.............bad enough x 2 to put me in hospital...............

Now this past winter (2011 - 2012) was pretty mild and I made it through fine..............then May and June came and I totally crashed and burned:(:(:(......This winter (2012-2013), I am still "recovering from the June episode................

Now I am scared to death (maybe literally) of the heat and humidity that will come THIS summer.....and I LOVE the summers...........we'll see this year!!!!!!!!!!

I live in SE North Carolina and the pollen season is upon us! I am now a Wheezer Geezer! Older and doing pursed mouth breathing several times a day along with the rest of the meds. Wheezing and coughing more than ever.

When my late husband and I lived up north, the cold really got to me. Now it's the pollen. It's something of one kind or another in most places. But down here, Mucinex has helped me a great deal.
Especially since I now take two per day!

Well young lady, you probably have an overabundance of trees and other folisge in your mountains, so you're battling all kinds of pollens and other allergens in the area. Especially this time of the year. I live only roughly 550 miles northeast of you in Southern NJ and the pollen up here is already bad, even with the snows and rains we've had lately! I wish I had a better answer for you Sweetie. Sll I can say is, in the summertime stay inside as much as possible with the AC on. Jim
