Good morning friends,
I don't usually post topics as such,I journal mostly because it helps me to focus on the things I need to,and sometimes on things I didn't know I needed to focus on,what can I tell you?,I'm a strange and complicated man!. Anyhow,for over a week now,perhaps ten days,my breathing has been what I can only describe as extremely labored and getting through entire days has been somewhat of a task,and I have been left feeling exhausted and totally drained from the effort..I have had a cold which,despite my best endeavors,still stubbornly refuses to lift,with the end result that my chest feels as if I've swallowed several sheets of heavy grade sandpaper and my lungs don't feel as if they are operating fully,if that doesn't sound too off the wall,I really can think of no other way to describe it.I have had in the past had pneumonia which developed into pleurisy four times in five months and I have no desire to repeat the experience as it was both extremely painful for me and frighteningly worrying for my family.I take spireva in the mornings and use a rescue inhaler whenever I need to during the day,and lately I have needed to use it a great deal more than I used to,my main question is,could my present regimen of medication be proving ineffectual because my system has become immune to them over time,or could my COPD have progressed to a stage where I need to look at additional means of relief?. On Monday(tomorrow),I will again attempt to gain an appointment with my doctor,I tried last week but his appointment book was full,so I guess what I'm asking is what questions should I be asking him?,what other methods of control should I be looking at?,any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated,thank you my friends,
