So true! When I get irritated with someone in line or someone "out of line" I remind myself that they might be dealing with more than I am and to just be gracious and kind.

good to remember during this holiday season when stress is high. sometimes i can get so frustrated by seemingly rude people (and the help) in stores, that i must remember this!

I love this saying and truly try to remember it when someone isn't doing as I think they should. God grant me patience and wisdom.

Tis often found that when I see wrong in others (no matter as to the season) I must look to myself to see the source of my irritation. Comparing my insides with their outside is a constant battle, as I have no idea as to what is driving their sadness. Mayhaps a simple smile will change their day.

Hi Dennis, HUGS back "at cha"!!! I agree that on some level our anger and/or bitterness toward others can be caused by our own failings. Since non of us are perfect, tho many think that, some one else's bad attitude could maybe be changed in a second with a smile, or simply "I understand". NO ONE knows what another is going thru, or have gone thru . I keep reminding my self a lot, that I do not run anything, or control any person , but I can control my attitude if I tried. Hope things are getting better for you my friend

While in a store today I saw a frazzled Mommy and her probably
1 year old was sitting there babbling ....lala tata mama...and some
squeaks.

I looked at her and said: "my sentiments exactly sweetie"

And Mom burst out laughing.

This is not only relevant to the people we interact with in person, but also those we interact with in all aspects of our lives (i.e., DS). Seems things have been a bit uneasy here lately, which is what brought one of my favorite saying to mind :O)

Battle, aye. My poor interaction with the outside world I can justify pretty simply by listing out my current ailments. Many recipients of my wrath are the innocent people are those we speak of. I pray that when I do get to a point where I have the capacity to make amends to them all.

Twas never their fault:

You cannot change another- but you can set up situations so they can change themselves. God be with you...

Love that saying. I try to practice it every day. A little kindness goes a long way.

I was always taught if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. We don't know how others feel and I try to tell myself everyone has good in them.
