Atrovent for COPD & Emphysema

I have used Atrovent Inhaler 4xday for the last 10 plus years as well as Atrovent Solution mixed w/Albuteral Solution 4xday in a nebulizer.

It has worked quite well for me; even after trying Spiriva two different times. That one I couldn't get to work for me.

You know, my new doc put me on Spiriva and Advair. He keeps telling me the Spiriva is great but honestly, I felt better with flovent and serevent

I didn't like Atrovent at all. I found that it made my mouth very dry, I felt real sluggish on it and don't feel it helped my breathing at all.

I think this drug suits some and not others.

I find spiriva helps me better.

Looking forward to the options available with indacaterol tho - grateful for any input from DS medical team about this drug :O)

Did not help me much, I was put on Symbicort and now I am doing OK. I think different things work for some, just have to try til you find what works for you.

Simple request by DS team with very little helpful input.

I know some are still benefitting from Atrovent - even to this day.

Just like information contained in historical medical records - this sort of information makes those records.


But I guess no input is just as good a unhelpful input.

Bumping old posts results in some useful information also. All the current drugs come with a long list of side effects so it is up to the individual to judge what is best for them.

There are times when a topic is bumped for comparison as has been done recently.
