Hi All. The latest chapter in my journey towards transplant was a disaster. During the cardiac cath they found 2 clogged arteries. One was 90%, the other 100%.
They cleared and put in a non-medicated stent on the 90% one and did nothing for the 100%.
They kept me over night. All was fine. Got home, made salad for lunch and started sweating profusely. Got up to go to the bathroom and could not breathe, Nothing was getting in.
Called 911 and off the hospital I go.
Long story short, I was bleeding internally from the femerial artery. Was in SCIU for 4 days. 3 units of blood and a bunch of solumedrol later. They let me out yesterday. I am one big black and blue mark from my knees to my neck.
I see the heart doc on Friday and have an email into the transplant team. The thought of a stress test for pulmonary rehab scares the you know what out of me.
This will make one hell of a "what I did on my summer vacation".

are they going to try to unclog the 100% clogged artery at another time or are they going to stop at the one?

They have different types of tests for pulmonary rehab, so do not get stressed over that. After what just happened, there is no way they are going to put you on a treadmill and turn it up full blast!!
But they do need to know what your heart can and can not handle, because they also do not want you exercising one day and have a heart attack.
So talk bluntly with the doctor, tell him your fears, and have him explain exactly what they will be doing with this stress test.
They will take everything into consideration when doing it.
As far as the transplant, it is best to find out now that you have blockage, rather than on the operating table .Not that it is ever good to have blockage, I do not mean that.
Also, check with your transplant doctor about the stents. I kind of remember someone commenting on having blockage but the transplant team said no stents that had blood thinners? Was this you?
So I am not understanding what is happening, and how this would affect the transplant.
But the MAIN idea, is that it saved your life right now, so that is most important. When God says it is time to do something, it will happen regardless of the attempts of man to change it.

I had no idea I was bleeding internally which I found very frightening.
Right now I feel much better. I don't know if it's a steroid high or the act my heart is getting more blood.
AS far as the other blockage, the transplant team says they can fix that during the surgery, but I am not on the list yet!
Oh well catch 22.
It's good to be home with hubby and Bobo kitty.
I will keep you posted about my visit to the heart dr. tomorrow.
