Has anyone on this site had any experience with how you can deal with one very stubborn, but much loved cat, who just loves biting plastic hoses actually in half? I've already done the making a squirt bottle and get her every time I catch her but I got up this morning with no air coming through my hose at all and I can't watch her 24 hours a day. I'm now considering running the night time hose on hooks half way up the wall back to the bedroom so she can't reach it. Nicki will do the same thing with my nebulizer hose but I just take it off when I'm done each time and put it in a drawer. I can't do that with the 25 ft one - I'm on 24/7 at 6 lpm. If I'm leaving the house I do put it up and turn the concentrator off.
Any ideas from any of you folks out there. She's a lovable and really sweet cat so I'm not going to throw her out in the cold but I gotta solve this problem. My other 2 cats are no problem at all. - Ruthie (aka dollaraudit)

I saw somewhere, unrelated to cats, but to run your tubing through those pool noodles? Not knowing the lay-out of your house, could be impossible. Or you could rub one of those cat repellent products on the whole length of tubing.
I'm sorry to make light of this, but remember the Far Side comic? Reminds me of something you'd see there. Good luck with it :)

The bitter apple may be the easiest start.
I read on another page where they made a cloth sleeve (3/4 inch or so) for the tubing and it worked.
I have one cat that likes to chew on the cannula swivel on the hose, although he has a hard time avoiding my foot when he does that...

this might sound mean. but it worked for dog.
tabasco sauce. rub it down the entire legnth of hose...usually one dose & they quit & you won't have to use it after that except as a "spot reminder"
i've used it for electrical wires that a pup just wouldn't leave alone...the smell just made him stop & he didn't even have to taste it.
(i figured a hot mouth was better than electrocution)
be careful to keep it well away from your face tho!
