This I think is something we all need to watch for. Scams, anything to get your money, knowing we want a cure and many people are desperate, scared etc. it is natural to go through all that. But things like this and Soup A & B or H020 (peroxide treatment which people have died from), are nothing but money grabbers and need to be removed, however the fda apparently are pretty slow people and don't get things done swiftly and again we get some of this stuff from out of the country. JMHO
An advert for a device aimed at people with breathing difficulties was "irresponsible" and could discourage readers from seeking essential medical treatment, the advertising watchdog has said.
The advert for PowerBreathe, in the House of Bath catalogue, claimed the device - which was shown being held to a woman's mouth and connected to a nose clip - was "helpful" for people with asthma, emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
But the Advertising Standards Authority found the device may be harmful for patients with some forms of asthma and added it had seen no evidence that it could help with the treatment of emphysema.
The advert was "irresponsible" and "could discourage readers from seeking essential treatment", the ASA said.
It added that the advert must not appear again in its current form.
"We reminded House of Bath that advertisers should not discourage essential treatment, including offering diagnosis or treatment for serious or prolonged conditions, unless it was conducted under the supervision of a doctor or other suitably qualified health professional," the ASA said.
JD Williams & Co, which was trading as the House of Bath, told the ASA that its suppliers' website included health-related research and added that the advert did not make claims that by using PowerBreathe readers "could or should stop taking any medication or could or should avoid seeking appropriate medical advice".
