For the past couple of years, I have been getting the FLUZONE HD for those over 65. Not just because I am over 65 but because I have a compromised immune system after years of steroids

This dose as the video explains contains 4 times the antigens as the other ones and this is just another way protect my lungs and also provide some insurance against hospitalization.

The vaccine does hurt going in but even in my skinny arm, the lasting soreness was minimal.

Yeah, flu vaccine. Some are against them, some for them. Apparently they've changed the vaccine and removed some of the parts or did them in other ways removing some of the health concerns some groups had about them. I work in the hospital system and we get them offered on site and I get them every year for about the last 5 years. Never had a reaction except once. They were giving the shots in the foyer in my way in to work, got the shot and before the end of the shift I felt achy and a bit feverish and thought maybe I was a bit too late getting the shot and had caught the flu before hand as it takes a few weeks for the vaccine to build your immunity. Not the case though, I felt better by the next morning so it was my body's immune system sending out the troops to fight off the invader that it mistook the already dead virus for that had been injected into me.
One guy at work tells me he almost never ever got sick in his whole life, maybe 5 or 6 cold/flue bouts and he's about 50 y/o or so. But after getting the vaccine at the work site he's been sick at least once and usually twice every year after. Could be just the fact that when coming to work in the hospital we come in contact with the most vicious variety of every bug and virus imaginable. Ebola freaking me out. I lather my hands in the alcohol wash so often now that they feel like leather.

i got my flu shot already & from my dr---now i'm going to have to ask if he gave me the "standard" with 3 or the one that has 4 strains.
hopefully, he did the 4 strain as i have seen a HUGE difference in my whole family since we started getting flu vaccines every year.
