A true doc should be helping you as much as he can. You need to see if you can get a change.
My regular doc gave me a sample of Spiriva but it caused an shakes, etc., so he threw it in the trash & gave me a free sample of Advair which I have been on ever since.
My pulmo gave me a sample of Tudorza & because it's a brand new med for Canada & I have no med coverage, he gave me a chit from the company so I could get a certain number of inhalers free of charge. I just handed it to the pharmacy & they charged the company directly for my inhalers.
Now I have finally qualified for CPP Disability (as of yesterday although I won't receive any payments until probably Nov. or Dec.) I will probably be able to afford the new inhaler & my hubby's benefits should kick in about the same time. My inhalers paid for by the company will run out about the same time.
Maybe it's fate everything will all happen at the same time?
It should be noted that anora ellipta is not like spiriva and advair all in one dose. It is a totally different combination of drugs, albeit they essentially do the same thing. So far none of these products have demonstrated overly superior effectiveness in the treatment of COPD over the others, but they all do present slight differences in side-effects both in type and degree - which vary dramatically per individual. Thus deciding which to prescribe often comes down to a patients morbidities and whether they can tolerate the possible side-effects and very little to do with whether it performs better.
So unfortunately, the most important question on the long run is seldom whether is better, nor even if it is good or bad, nor how other people react to it, but rather can YOU take it without making YOURSELF sicker.
has been a god-send for me. I only take two puffs a day one
in the a.m. and one in the p.m.
So reading the various comments I guess most of the time we
all respond differently to different treatments and "most of the
time" our doctors do try their best.
I hope. :o)
i like spiriva that is only used once a day & it works great for me.
kind of a drag he didn't have samples to try first. these inhalers are so expensive i'm glad i got to ''try" the spiriva before investing money in it.
good luck & let us know if this new one helps you..maybe it will be cheaper??? (fingers crossed for that :) )
