The would have found better meds long ago for COPD if it had serious advocates with high visibility. COPD is often considered a self inflicted disease, kinda like "OK, you were stupid - now you get to pay for it" because most people with COPD smoked.
I take a daily dose prednisone, which I'll admit has kept me breathing much easier. But the side affects are all there all the time. I'll accept that, as if I'm going to hang around here I'm going to be as well as I can be...

Johns Hopkins Hospital only recommends steroids for very severe COPD. But even before that stage, lots of Drs love to give patients steroids because they have an immediate effect and make the Drs look good for making their patients feel better.........(.how cynical one can be.) And I often am cynical when I have done lots of research and feel I am getting something that will not do me good in the long run.
Excuse my attitude! I may be old but I still want to feel better while living longer at the same time........
