Boo, that's funny. I'm one of the few people today who has a real problem with acronyms - it's so easy to misunderstand e.g. SOB. Plus, I spent my grammar school years in spelling bees. I have a need to make this learning count.

PFD reminds me of RFD (yeh I'm an old senior) which related to rural mail delivery. Anyway I have nothing to offer on this. I hope its something fun.

Ladybug, I looked on my lung transplant "tests" list and could not find anything with those initials. All I can say is, if it is like mine was, you will give blood , (A LOT ), urine, poop, have mri's cat scans, bone density scans, sonar scans, walking tests, breathing tests, blowing in the tube tests, heart cath, (if needed) vein scans, x rays, ect... you will get the ultimate physical....so I think the initials stand for a breathing tests, but your hospital may have different things. Good luck, ..oh yes, you will also have a psycological test, and I may have for got a few others, (dental, eyes, ...)

I haven't the foggiest idea either. I've heard of PFT's but these medical acronyms make me nuts and that's from someone who spent 4 years working in the Pentagon and believe me there's nobody like the government and our military who has a bigger passion for acronyms unless it's the medical profession.
