Turns out I have something called MAI or MAC .Mycrobacterium etc. It's a nasty bacterial infection which can take 12-18 months of antibiotic treatment. Had a biopsy today so they can determine exactly what bacteria it is and how best to treat it.
Probably got it because of the steroids weakening my immune system. Just another speed bump. Just when you think you can cope, the universe throws a curveball.

Its good they discovered what it was...because if you didn't it could reek more havoc than you know. So you started the treatment..YAY...

OUCH ! Those bumps are not fun !! So sorry to hear of this latest problem. And a year to year and a half of antibiotics sound like a LOT! Do you have to come of the steroids in order to take them? I always wondered about that when I was in transplant program, But then I worried about everything, that is why I had to drop out !!

But I hope this nasty bug gets taken care of and the rest of the bumps are a bit smaller....

Took another biopsy that was requested by the state of New York. How did they even know I had a biopsy? This "special test" will speed up the process, getting results faster.
Started the antibiotics yesterday
