I feel like a yo-yo. Got a call from Columbia Presbyterian. I have to go for more tests to see if I qualify for LVRS. I don't want to set myself up for another fall so I am guardedly optimistic.
Rehab is going well. I am staring slowly on the treadmill so I can continue exercising at home.
I am concerned how this will effect my SS Disability. We could not survive without it.
I see the doctors on October 22nd. Wish me luck!
Not sure how I will react if they turn me down.

It was great to see your post because I have had you on my mind today.
I don't know how things work at your medical place, but if there are tests out there that might qualify you for LVRS, then that is great. We will pray for a good result that is in your favor.
This is only MY personal opinion, but I do not see how it would affect your SSI. Don.t even worry about that, just go on with what you are doing.
The folks i have corresponded with on "transplant buddies" that have had a LVRS , said were so happy to be able to do things with no SOB, the only thing was they could not do as much at one time because of their limited lung volume, but they were happy.
I am not eligible for LVRS because my emphysema is spread all over my lungs, and it needs to be in one area they can cut out in order for it to work. And also as you know, according to doctors, I am not ready for the transplant.
But each day I wake up breathing, I am grateful, and the exercises will really help keep us strong and able to cope with this disease.
Never give up hope my friend. I wish you well, and pray you can get this surgery , or other help you need. Keep up the exercises, and that will benefit you later.

All I can say is hang in there, do your best, and continue to take care of yourself!
It's like the transplant was a dead end street so you had to take another turn and aren't sure where you're gonna end up!
Happy for you that rehab is going well.
I agree with Brenda that I don't think having the surgery would affect your SS Disability. Sending positive thoughts, good wishes and hugs!
