Turns out that Atlantic in Talisay could do it for 772 Php for a 6 mtr length.
This morning I organized a couple of our men to meet me there to buy it, cut it in half and deliver it to site.
Went to the sales desk and said 1 bar of..please. Our company rung up yesterday and was told to look for Jupiter, he could give us a discount
Thats 1095 Php sir.
But we were given a price over the phone of 772
Thats for the 4mm Sir
We were given a price of 772 for the one quarter at around 4pm yesterday.
After some keyboard tapping, he writes out a sales docket by hand for 1 length 2 x 2 x angle bar and a price of 772 Php. Aha I think. He has decided to agree to what we were told over the phone.
Computer spits out some other paperwork, I hand over money and get the change.
Off to the claims area and out comes a bar of steel.
Here you are Sir says the girl.
I look at what she is offereing and it seems way to thin to my eye.
Excuse me Miss, this isnt one fourth, its thinner.
She shows me a computer doc which says 6mtrs of 50 x 50 x 4mm angle bar.
See Sir.4mm.
But my handwritten one says 1 length 2 x 2 x angle bar see.
But Sir, 4mm is one fourth.
No its not Mam, one fourth of one inch is actually 6.4mm. I have been dealing in steel for about 30 yrs and look at my tape measure here in my hand.
But Sir, there are three sizes of one fourth, Premium, standard and sub standard.
Could you please explain the difference Mam?
Certainly Sir. Premium is 6mm, standard is 5mm and sub standard is 4mm.
Oh, says the now enlightened idiot. Thanks for explaining that to me Mam.
So now you know, one fourth of an inch comes in 3 different sizes!!!!

Almost like when I called the "Travel dept" of my medical provider to make sure the Corpus provider knew I was coming down and would need xxxcanisters of oxygen.
The first thing asks, after I told her where I was going...was..."will you be in the city of Corpus?" I said yes, I will be in Corpus Christi, so then she asks" yes, but will you be in the city proper?" I said Heck, I do not know lady, if it is proper or not, I will be in Corpus !!
I finally just told her to forget it and I called the Corpus medical myself...and all they asked was where to deliver the o2...
