Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
I had an enlarged spleen in 2007 and had to have it removed in 2008. The doctors felt it was enlarged because it was destroying my red blood cells and platelets at a rapid rate. Since then I have had fee flare ups, it has fixed the issue 90% of the time. After years have passed I realized that it was that I had CVID as an underlying issue and it resulted in my organs not functioning correctly.
Thanks
