Isn't it always something with us. It sounds like you should see a doctor, but I'm sure you have thought about that. About developing allergies later in life, YES. When I was your age I moved from Michigan to Central Texas, deemed the 'allergy capital of the world'. I immediately had problems. Cedar fever, hay fever, whatever the hell it all was. Looking back, somehow I just dealt with it because I seemed to have much bigger health issues.. I hadn't been diagnosed yet and I was really sick most of the time. Eventually, I did get over the allergies, especially after I started IVIG. Maybe there is hope for you. I have this picture of you walking around with kleenex stuck up your nose. I know it's not funny, but that is quite the image.

The other thing you might want to pursue is asking your doctor, endo or immuno, about Sjogrens. I seemed to have developed that in my 50's and finally got diagnosed last year. It wreaks havoc with your eyes, mouth and throat. There are other side effects, but they are not as obvious. Do you have a dry mouth and throat? I know it sounds crazy, but that's kinda how it started for me. If it is Sjogrens, eventually you will have the opposite problem. Anyways, just get it checked out. You shouldn't have to suffer.

I'm not supposed to have allergies because my IgE is 3.0, but I develop allergies frequently and suddenly...especially to foods and drugs like antibiotics. For me it seems like the more I'm exposed to something, the more likely it is that I'll develop an allergy to it. Also, if it's windy out, I tend to have nose-running days where I also stuff tissue in my nose to stop the running.

When I was a child I responded to all of the allergy tests but the only time I'd have the nose-running thing was when it was really windy. Other than that, my allergies triggered more sinus congestion, asthma, and eczema symptoms than the runny nose.

As for the red eyes...I've heard something about that, but don't remember what. I think Fezzy's right though, you should see a doctor.

Eeeeks Princess: I just dont know how you cope. But yes, I called the doctor and I have an appointment tomorrow with the allergist/immunologist. My eyes are blazing hot, and my nose is CONSTANTLY RUNNING like a fire hose, its SO ANNOYING! I literally walk around with toilet paper shoved up my nostrils, I don't care what anybody thinks anymore! HA HA! Anyway nuse called me from doctor felmans office and I asked her about going to an infusion center in the hospital, and she said Beverly doesn't have one, but white memorial in EAST LA does (fun) so I guess I will be going there. It is right across the street from County USC. So at least that is taken care of. I know my levels are way low, and maybe that is why the whole eye/nose thing is getting worse, I can kinda of feel it startin to work up in the sinuses between the eyes, I just dont want it to turn to infection. Anyways I hope THAT YOU are feeling at least DECENT. Hope your breathing has been easier for you. Thats interesting to note that the ige fight allergies, I mean I know I have NO IGA, IGG, IGE AND IGM (I think Igm) But I am doing pretty good not getting sick, its just this weird eye junk and nose running like a fire hose. I'll let you know what the doctor says or thinks. Fun fun fun.

For Princess B- If you have had to use oral steroids and I think I remember you have had to use them often and for long periods, it will cause a false negative. I was told it is almost a year of No oral steroid before you can get a true reading of IgE this was from two different allegorists. I haven't asked my current allergist being, he know I have allergies by the physical signs and being on oral steroids it is stupid to look at my blood work at this point. I had already done allergy shots and went way to close to anaphylaxis shock. From the first shot had issues with go into asthma attacks after 45 minutes every time.
Stimpy- you can develop allergies at any point in your life is what I have been told. I do agree with whoever said over exposure does lead to some allergies. I am pretty sure that over use of Augumen lead to the allergy to it.
I also have red eyes, I know some if it is due to my glaucoma medications and some of it is allergies.

Well went to dr. today (allergist) and he said I dont have allergies, but I am having allergy type symptoms from the enviroment. (whatever that means) but he gave me a prescription for Flonase (for nose) and over the counter Naphcon A eye drops. As soon as I got them I took them and I felt immediate relief, (yay!) He's kinda an old chinese doctor and he has acquired 2 more cvids patients and he was telling me about them. He was real chatty, he was telling me about a dr. in Long Beach (no names) that had a patient and he told her she had cvids when she really didnt, just so he could get a $600.00 co-payment from her each month! Outrageous, right! He was telling me about all his colleagues that were ENT'S how they worked in the entertainment industry, and one in particular would send him patients and tell him to "fix" their nasal problems, and after examining them, he said they are snorting coke, they dont have nasal problems. Ha Ha! He was reminiscing about all of the doctors he had dealt with and patients. Jeez, doctors! We all think they are holier than thou, but man they can be crooked. Espeically giving someone our precious gammaglobulin to somebody that doesn't need it, just to prosper! Bad.

I was just wondering if you have had a sub-q treatment yet

Tinks03: I tried subQ about 5-6 months ago, the nurses didn't suggest using it anymore, they said it was a pain in the arse. Went to dr. today to get an infusion set up, have to go to a hosptial lab. God my mind is so tired, I can barely understand what the doctor is saying, says medicare part D wont pay for it, blah blah blah, so i have to go to a hospital and bill it to medicare part B, and they couldn't figure this out, so now I am overdue and I am tired, dont know if its a "mental state" or caused from low levels.

if I had to guess its fatigue from your lvls and stress but the reason I asked is the same thing happen to me after I started taking sub-q but I wouldn't say my eyes burn as bad but almost constant stuffy nose and if its not stuffy then its runny and you cant smell anything and my eyes are almost always red

No has nothing to do with sub-q, but what I am using for the red eyes is (over the counter) Naphcon A - it has worked excellent for me. And then for the constant nasal FLOOD, Flomax (prescription) that has also worked excellent for me. Right now I am just waiting to get my infusion date, I am 3 weeks overdue. Tired.
