So a little update on where things are at! There was a new immunology medical center opened up in my home town, and I am getting to go back to consult with an amazing doctor from a huge research center in Colorado. This became exciting when a few hours after scheduling my appointment the doctor called me to speak about my case, take interest, introduce himself, and get an idea of where we may be heading! I have never had a doc I haven't yet met call and talk with me for an hour! Anyways I may be looking at some not fun but necessary procedures to assess the damage of my lungs, and evaluate for a bunch of nasty diseases we haven't specifically looked at yet. We may be repeating my immunology screenings to get more detailed information on what exactly is causing the immunedeficiency. I suppose it's possible my lung disease is primary, but still very possible I just got sucky genes. We are also going to make changes to my infusions. The subq therapy has not been the best option and is causing alot of unwelcome issues, so depending on the discussion I may be looking at surgery for a portacath to do frequent doses of IVIG. Everything is unknown and up in the air as to what we find out, and where we head, but I am excited to have a doctor willing to pull out the big guns. He may be sending me to Colorado for a stay there as well. But, apparently I suck at being sick, even though I can't seem to not be sick and if we don't figure this out my lungs just might poop out to an irreversible state. So time to kick this sucker, and get to go back to accomplishing whats on my agenda. I have my consult next week. Any input on what's going on, or just positive vibes are so appreciated. I hate not knowing things!
