Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
Prior to and throughout my CVID disease, I get incontinence. This is different from stress incontinence. I start feeling sick (even on IVIG) and then urinate all over myself, the floor, whatever. I get no warning. Urine runs down my legs at times. Then I get better for awhile. Dip sticks show nothing and cultures rarely find anything. Anyone else? I need to know for my regular doctor how this is related. Thanks so much. Shrink
spicey hot tea at a cafe. I was barely able to make it home and by the time I got there, well I
was a few minutes too late. This continued for a few days even when I gave up the tea.
After that, I got very ill with a respiratory virus. I noticed that my body was just 'sick all over'
and run down and I had trouble with incontinence for several weeks and had to stay in
anyway most of the time. Now, that has cleared. Hope this is of some help.
However, my bladder can be a bit 'off' like you speak of. If I put my hands under water
some times to do the dishes, it will set off my bladder. I also have noticed this for a number
of years.
