Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
OK I'm on clarithromycin. generic Biaxin. I have a chronic cough that is productive that had gotten progressively worse. I know if bad enough to call the doc when people at the Louisville meeting commented on it . . .it just gets so a cough is a usual thing, The other clue it is bad is when my wife asks, " did the cough keep you up last night." To which I answer no it didn't." But being the bright not so young man that I am, it's a clue that it kept her up and it is time to call my physician. . . which I did yesterday,
our plan is three weeks of antibiotic, if it does not clear, an MRI and pulmonary function test an reevaluate the need to see my pulmonary doc.
OK BUT WHAT REALLY MAKES ME REALLY MAD IS IT IS 36 DEGREES IN CLEVELAND AND MY SON AND I ARE PLANNING TO GO TO THE INDIANS HOME OPENER TODAY. . . which we do most years
I'm evaluating the situation . . Let's see . . .41 degrees estimated at first pitch, antibiotic for a cough, blood sugar out of whack . . game is on TV, son will go my himself anyway, probably find a last minute date . . . . . . . .I think I made up my mind . . . . . . I'm watching it on TV this year and I'm meet him downtown for dinner and a drink afterwords.
I've concluded my doc uses a ABC rotation. Amoxicillin, Biaxin, Cipro and Levaquin . . .
At least my doc is back. He was in the hospital on IV antibiotics for three weeks . . . bad infection something facetious. . is supposed to be really dangerous. When I asked if it was a hospital bacteria he said, no it was a community one.
I can't remember what he said the first part of the infection was . .any ideas?

Same problem, productive cough that I just can't shake. My family just listens for the cough to find me and then tries to make me laugh so that I turn into a coughing, giggling, wheezing mess. Can you feel the love?
The infection you ask about? No clue.
The son? He will lovingly pat you on the head, profess his sorrow at missing the game with you, and race out the door to find a lovely girl to share the chilly game with. You on the other hand get to watch the game in your cozy home with a hot toddy and warm blanket. Don't feel bad, he still loves you and will enjoy the dinner and a drink afterward, especially if you invite the lovely girl along.

I have great narcotic cough mes. I sleep like a baby when I take some.

The ABC rotation sounds familiar. Levaquin is always my last in the arsenal. Unfortunately, during my last near death experience, I was on it IV for 2 weeks, and then home taking large quantities for a few weeks afterwards. It did finally work, but by the end of it all, I was pretty beat up. Couldn't lift my arms for months and could barely walk. Most of those major tendons were torn, which is one of the side effects of Levaquin, a 'black box' drug. Sometimes you just gotta take it though. I would have died without it.
Sounds like the game on tv was the better choice.
