Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
After several years of sub-q infusions, my company prescription insurance has gotten haywire. CVS is the insurance and CVS Specialty is the pharmacy. For several years my co-pay was one single amount each month. Now, CVS has been trying to charge co-pays for each strength vial of Hizentra, and most recently, trying to add a co-pay for needle sets. It has taken months to get anywhere with them so that they will correct their billing. Is there an advocacy group or some other agency that assists in matters like this? I've never in my life experienced anything like this before.
Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, I talked with them for weeks and weeks and kept getting the run around. Finally I emailed their corporate and asked for an address for their legal dept so that my attorney could contact them. I got the address, but quickly my account was fixed. I spoke with the BBB and found that they had had hundreds of issues over the past couple of years. We'll see. So far no more issues. Fingers crossed. :)
