I am so damn tired of the insurance companies trying to take control of OUR health care..Why are we going to doctors? Why don't we just go to the insurance co to have them dx us and treat us? Because that's what is happening. These poor doctors are trying to treat us with both hands tied behind their backs...

Blankenh I am so sorry you are going through all of this, you finally get a diagnosis and for what? I actually look forward to my infusion, not the infusion itself, but how I feel afterwards, because, 5 days and counting I am wiped out...

Blankenh, it is so frustrating to be in this place, huh? I have a very uneasy feeling about the insurance companies "deciding" if we can have our treatments or not. I am praying it gets better down the road but I see this over and over again. (HUGS) to you for a better day. I hope you can do something nice for yourself...you deserve it!

I went through the market place. we moved on feb 1st. I called and let everyone know I moved. then I get a call that we have to reapply. so on the 11th we did a new application. it should have taken 48 to 72 hours to transfer. no changes. same cards. deductibles come forward. only change is they added an additional $164 to my premium and change the address.

IT'S STILL NOT CHANGED. they canceled one policy on the 28 the other took over the 1st of march. but the doctor can't get an approval for ivig because he isn't sure of the changes. I take ivig every 2 weeks this is the end of my 3rd going in to my 4th.

frustrated and worn down I understand your frustration.

I'm sorry, Blankenh! The insurance issues are so aggravating because they don't know what's best for us. My insurance has been great with my IgG replacement. There were several of us on specialty drugs that they didn't want to pay for when the plan started. The plan administrator at my husband's work told them to pay or they'd drop the contract. They paid for all of our meds then!

I've been on meds for GERD for probably ten years and they are making me try Protonix before they'll give me my Dexilant. It isn't fun and I've had to take a lot of Zofran as a result. I want to tell them that they aren't my doctor! They shouldn't be allowed to do any of this.

Anyway, I'm praying that they'll get it resolved soon. Hang in there.

I am so sorry for everyone and I know it will trickle on down to me, too. I have Medicare and BCBS...BLAHHHHH!

It's crazy and not right. The insurance companies are who rule the world. Not the President. Although, he set a lot of this crap up now.

Anyway, it seems that this is the new world. The health care reform. Scary, isn't it? We all have to hurry up and wait.

Blankenh...I hope that you and Debbie get fast approval and it just STICKS. Not having to go through this every month. It's not right to play with peoples lives.

You are all so sweet -I knew you'd understand...it's just sooooo frustrating.here I am the DAY I am to have an 8 am appt for infusion (after emotionally readying myself) and I am ""waiting"" clearance from the ins to the dr ..so if they clear i will then be there 5 hours AFTER I drive 1 1/2 hours each way...that's WHY I schedule early so it's only dark one direction....ah what a life,huh...

Is this what we have to look forward to with insurance? From what I see it's like everyone is having to get approved each month? Is that right? Wondering if it has to do with the fact that our treatments are so expensive? Wondering if there is anything that the Immune Foundation could lobby for us? Lots of questions? No answer. For now I'm lucky our insurance has approved my treatments for a year. But I'm waiting for approval for disability. If that happens then it will be a whole other ball game. That really is concerning me. My husband who has to take controlled pain meds for a condition he has, went to see his dr today. His dr was telling him how what is coming down the pike where the dr won't be able to call in a prescription for pain meds or give refills. So you will have to go pick up the prescription from the dr. every time you need it. He said most dr won't want to bother with that so they will just not prescribed pain meds any more. Then you will have to go to a dr who specializes in pain management. What fun!

WHEW! at the last minute (and I do mean LAST minute!!) I got the call that the ins gods had approved me -so off to a highspeed trip (1.5 hrs away) and am still on schedule! THANK YOU all for the prayers ,feed back and just allowing me to complain!!

Doing HAPPY DANCE for you...You are Blessed this month...Ask your doctor to please see if they can get approval a couple days sooner so you aren't in such a hurry next time. Explain the 11/2 hour drive. I am sure he would be happy to have his staff work on that for you.

Yeah,Cheryl they were busting their buns trying to get it accomplished it was on the ins end...the insurance gods-you know the ones with no medical training who "decide" how sick one has to be to decide IFF they can have the treatment....sure jacks ones bp up !! thankful in the 11th hour they ""allowed"" me to go...
