I would opt for the night before. Do you know any of the people in Michigan? I know there is a chapter their in one of the suburbs not too far from where I used to live, now I am in Texas. Are you familiar with this group?

I am seriously considering this one if I can use extra miles.

I'm getting the feeling you know everyone at these meetings. Have they ever had one in Texas anywhere?

I know lots of people in the area; my wife was the national adviser to a sorority at MSU.
I'm at the point in my life where staying in peoples homes is just not enjoyable as a hotel. And I dislike hotels. For a major part of my career, I traveled a great deal, spending over 200 nights a year in hotels. After that they kind of lost their glamor unless I on an extended vacation.
I guess I'm an old fuddy duddy . . I like my bed, and the warm and comforting wife of 30 years next to me.

on the idf website they have a "group" set up for people living in alabama...they are trying to get a meeting together for us to meet...maybe they have one in your area you may want to look....that way you are connecting with others in your area...
i know for some..... traveling isnt easy, if i had to travel without my family i would stay home all the time esp if you are working full time...a local group may be ideal for you...and some of the local groups do have speakers come i know the bham chapter had the immuno doc i will see in may at some point but i missed it....

give it a look and if they dont have one ask if you can start one......

midge, I think it valuable enough to drive from Cleveland, but you need to make that determination for yourself. I think it is only valuable if you care to meet other people with primary immune diseases and want to learn more about your illness. If you don't, hen I think it would be a waste of your time.

If anyone is looking for a hotel room, the 30th is the final football spring scrimmage, the Green - White game and it is a huge football weekend. There are few, if any rooms, left in East Lansing. Most hotels are sold out. There are rooms in Lansing, it's not really that far 10-15 minutes.

If anyone is driving from Cleveland, Saturday morning or wants a ride, let me know. Note, we'll have to leave about 4:00 AM.
