Sorry to hear of your frustration. I was very fortunate to have a physician and insurance company that got me started on IVIG very quickly. I know my home IVIG infusion nurses would tell me about insurance companies not covering patients that really needed IVIG. They too are frustrated. Hang in there, and don't give up. Trust me, you will feel so much better after getting the IVIG.

The new accepted level is actually 640-700 for a low, but a lot of ins. companies are balking at the idea (from what I understand). Basically it's this: you might be sicker because of your body and how it deals with illness than someone even lower than you are. We're all different. To be properly diagnosed, though, you do need that pneumo titre done. And then, you need to have your doc outline your lifetime of illness. If he is unwilling to do that for you and try to re-approach the ins company (as my first doc was, he tried twice by sending the exact same data and they turned me down because THEY said my levels had to be below 300 (if you can imagine)). Anyway, based on his shoulder shrugging (once told me that when our ins. changed, he'd try again but until then his hands were tied) and consistent dosing me with antibiotics that never made me feel great, just kept me at this exhausted level--I went and got a second opinion.
Best thing I'd ever done. That doc sat down with me for an hour and wrote down every illness I could remember, and those my mother has told me about (started 4 mos with tonsillitis). And he got me approved at the same ins. company in 5 days.
If you don't get the treatment you know you need, don't be afraid to call IDF and ask for doctor recommendations in your area and send your records over for a 2nd opinion.

Thanks for your support. I could not imagine being at 300. I will eait until this titre is finihed and go from there. Like you said I just stay at this exhausted level. I hope something changes soon
