Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
1. Don't panic, be prepared! Confidence is important. You should be pretty sure of your sexual orientation. Start to think about what you want to say, but don't dwell on it.
2. Know your facts! Do some research on the LGBT community so you can answer any questions she might have if you are comfortable doing so. People are less likely to judge when they know the correct information.
3. Be P.F.C. (polite, friendly, and conversational). Don't make a big deal out of it. Just be open and honest. Respect your wife's feelings and let her know that you're telling her because you care about her.
4. Congratulate yourself! Coming out is a big step and you just did it! If you want, go to a PFLAG meeting with your wife.
Good luck! I hope this helps! :)
She has noticed I've been in a better mood, or at least I'm getting better about hiding my mood and appearing happy. =\ I have been fixated on this since I figured it out, or finally dropped the denial of it. I've KNOWN since Jr. High, I just denied it, mush like you did TonyMack. It has been about 2-3 months since I accepted it. I have told only one person, I regret that it is not my wife, but my best friend. She has not started to "grill me" for answers, I'm an extreme introvert and she knows I'll clam up tighter than Ft. Knox. I owe it to both of us to tell her, I know that, just need to shake the anxiety, or plow through it.
Knowing the path is different from walking it.
I am happy that your wife took the news well, I hope you two can remain close friends through whatever you decide to do. Many blessings upon you!
