I'm a girl and I've been very confused about my sexuality for... as long as I can remember. Being gay isn't an option in my family. My mother doesn't even believe in baby's before marriage. She's not religious or anything. Far from it. She just has this set way of things in her mind and you can't go outside of it. My big sister left home at 16 got pregnant, and my mother disowned her. My sister's boyfriend was abusing her and my mom naturally blamed my sister for being such an idiot in the first place. My mom believes that gay people just want to stand out from the crowd, mental illness doesn't exist and rape is a lie.
So you see what I have had to deal with.
When I was 14 I had my first crush on a boy. But I never wanted him to kiss me or acknowledge that we were in a relationship, because it just seemed very odd and unnatural to me. I had a crush on my best girl friend for the better part of a year too, but my friends always used to make hurtful jokes about being gay, so I kept it to myself. I lost touch with all of them as soon as school was over.
At the age of 21 I met a girl at my work and I really liked her. More than a normal friendship and she liked me too. She was openly gay but I never admitted to anything. I liked spending time with her and we seemed to fit better, but I froze whenever things got too intimate and she ended the relationship after getting tired of waiting for me to be ready. 2 years ago I had brief relationship with a guy I met online. We seemed to connect more when it was talking via skype or texts, but then when it was time to meet, I lost the butterfly feeling and he lost interest in me very quickly.
I'm 25 now and still a virgin. I just feel like I don't fit anywhere. I don't have any friends that know. Not that I even know if there's anything to know. My current friends and everyone I knew from school is either married, divorced or a parent now and I still feel like such a kid.
My mom keeps saying to me when are you going to grow up, get married and have children? I have no interest in doing any of these though. I feel like I'm last in line at the 'Get a Life' station and I have no idea which line to join.

These are the things that might work the best. I have feelings for my best friend girl and I have invited her to prom with me as my date, then a week ago I confessed my feelings to her. She hasn't accepted them yet due to the long distance between us, but I am hoping to change that.
