Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
This is just my way of introducing myself to the group.
I was married, a father, and gay.
I spent most of my life lying to myself about who and what I really was,
and I gave myself excuses about the way I felt.
It was a very long, tough road, but I've learned to accept myself, and embrace who I really am.

My Dad did that same thing. He was raped as a kid by my grandfather. He told me that for the longest time he felt stuck--in the middle--but now he is engaged to a wonderful lady that hopefully will be my new mom soon.
For him it took almost 20 years of soul / sex searching. What he eventually told me is this: "Son, don't search for a girl or a boy. One doesn't marry for gender, or sex, or money. Search for love. Search for that soft pillow to fall when the world is crashing down. If the feelings are reciprocated back to you, then most likely you've found it -- LOVE. Fall in love with LOVE."
He has and we're a happy family in the making.
