yea, it's commom.
it can be quite a shocker for a parent to hear something they've always thought would never happen in their family.
But, just give her some time and she'll probably come around.

my brother came out (i have not yet) and my mom is still in a bit of denial. Let her get used to the idea and change all of her perceptions of who you want to date and be with. She still loves you because she's your mom. Good luck with it all.

Its perfectly normal just give it some time ,to accept the idea , we r still their children no matter wat , its just hard for them to accept @ first , take care hun

Moms do have more of a negative reaction than dads do believe it or not. My mother accepts me, She doesnt like it but im her son and she still loves me. She does wish I wasnt but nothings changed in our relationship :)

"search a thousand miles, you'll find nothing; wait a thousand hours, you'll find something" what's i'm basically saying is don't try and find an easy way to get something, in this case acceptance from your mother; instead give things time and wait and she'll slowly but surely get used to your lifestyle =] this is very common don't worry, the shock may hurt, but they will get used to the fact no matter what and in the end it'll strengthen your relation with your mother because you ARE being honest to her about this; so quite frankly you should have no worries accept waiting =]
