Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
Coming out is a huge step and you have to be absolutely sure the time is right for you to come out.
If and when you decide to come out you also need to be prepared to deal with the reaction of the people you come out.
Your true friends should support and understand and have no issues with you being gay unfortunately it sounds like there could be outdated and misinformed religious believes that would influence their ability to accept and support a gay friend.
It can be very difficult for parents to come to terms with having an LGBT child.
In many cases it is a complete lack of understanding about your sexuality that makes it so difficult for parents.
The are great sites that provide really good information for parents of LGBT children and if they are willing to at least look at them it can help them a great deal.
It might be worth checking into what services are available for LGBT kids in your community or at your school if your comfortable doing that.
It is great that you have some gay friends that you can just be yourself around and you don't have to worry about being outed.
It just comes down to what you feel is best for you and if the time comes and your sure it's time to tell your friends and family then preparing for it can start.
For now it sounds like you might be leaning towards not coming out to your friends and family and that is absolutely fine.
The only time your sexuality is anyone's business is when you decide to tell them.
Your well-being is the most important thing and you don't need to rush into doing anything your not ready to do.
A support site like this is a great place to get support maybe where you live or at school there are also LGBT services that can help you deal with things.
Things have improved a lot for LGBT youth but there is still a long way to go and in time you will know when it's right for you to open up to your friends and family about your sexuality.
For now just focus on your happiness and doing what you need to do to maintain your wellness.
