ok, so heres the deal. I live in senegal (that is in africa, and africa is NOT a country :) ) and i am in an american school which has a high school population of 50 ppl. i dont really like most of the ppl (smoking, weed, drunk alot, sex with anyone and everyone etc... ) and the ppl i do like i am not interested in beyond friend status. yet i would like to meet someone that is gay/bi, and my age, just to talk. i don't think any1 could help, since most of u live in the US or UK or wtv. another prob here is that senegal is extremely muslim, and being gay is not exactly supported, in fact i think it could get you killed... but yh if anyone has any advise on how i could maybe find out if someone i know is gay or how to find someone that is gay, it would be appreciated. however, i dont expect any1 can help, it seems helpless :(

oh, and nobody knows about me being gay or bi (not reli sure) except my mom. so maybe advice on coming out as well?? tnx

I'm one of the enlightened that knew that Senegal is a country, Africa is a continent. :P

Anyways, yes you are in an extremely delicate situation. Are you planning on living in Senegal all your life? That could give you a time frame, I suppose. It appears to me that your best shot is having an online relationship...they kind of suck sometimes bc you cant exactly be with the person...but i suppose it is better than nothing.

well i moved here last year. but cuz of my moms job, we move around a lot, mostly third world countries, so where ever i end up living for the next 3 years, i think it will be about the same situation. when i graduate from high school i am planning on going to college in the states :) but in the mean time im kinda stuck. i guess an online relationship could work. although last time i tried that it turned out the person was going out with a gazillion ppl at once. :( tnx anyways :D

Well, yes, I suppose there is that. Like I said, they're not the greatest things in the world. Anywho, it sounds to me as if everyone who needs to know already does so far as coming out. Idk. It all depends on where you are (emotionally, mentally, not necessarily physicaly). Sorry. Wish I was of more use to you.

I will tell you that no matter who you are, or where you live, the beginning of the journey is always the most difficult. I came out when I lived in a town of only about 400 people. I spent many days thinking I was the only lesbian in the whole universe. It is frustrating. It is part of the journey. Until the day I met my high school sweetheart of 2 years in that very same town. I assure you it will all work out in the long run. In the mean time you have all of us here to talk to. Don't feel alone in this struggle, because you are not. We've all been there. Even if you are in the busiest, most heavily gay populated state you could find, you still feel alone. Don't know where to start or how to approach it. But, I guarantee you someone in your area is feeling exactly the same way. Patience...hard to do, but well worth it.
